Pressure/ Vacuum Resistance

Insofar as testing and bursting pressures are unknown or the information given is incomplete, i.e. not defined by national, international or factory standards, DIN EN ISO 7751 is used as the basis.

Operating mode Ratio Ratio
Water hose up to 10 bar working pressure. 1,5 3,0
Hose for other liquids, solids suspended in liquids or air, water hose at 10 bar working pressure 2,0 4,0
Hose for compressed air and gasses. 2,0 4,0
Hose for liquid media that transform into a gaseous form on reduction of pressure 2,5 5,0
Steam hose 5,0 10,0

The pressures indicated in this catalogue apply at a media and ambient temperature of 20°C. Higher or lower temperatures may change the pressure characteristics of a hose, sometimes substantially.

The same applies to the indications on vacuum resistance.

In this respect, please consider that higher vacuum values than indicated may arise in a hose and pipe system (so-called short-term peak pressure), whereby you should observe the peak vacuum values in bar, mW or absolute values:

bar mWS % mmHg bar absolute
0.000 0.00 0 75 1.013
0.100 0.99 10 150 1.000
0.200 2.10 20 225 0.920
0.300 3.10 30 300 0.820
0.400 4.15 40 375 0.720
0.500 5.15 50 450 0.620
0.600 6.20 60 525 0.520
0.700 7.20 70 600 0.420
0.800 8.20 80 675 0.320
0.900 9.20 90 750 0.220
